750 engines

Hello folks.

Is there a known Kawi 750 issue. The reason I ask is as soon as I mention 750 everyone always mentions how there buddy had to rebuild there 750's with very little miles on it. They all claim that the 650 twin is the better more reliable engine. Now everyone that had the blown 750's were all brute force and not Teryx............so far. Are we not using the same engine and trans setup? Is there something setup different on the brutes making the blow up. They all mention something about the main bearing letting go and pretty well destroys the engine from the inside.
I do realize in stock form my buddy's 750 brute will eat my teryx......in speed runs every time with little effort. So people do run there Brute's harder that I do. I do realize that he is alot lighter than I am so that would make people drive faster and harder.

As long as you keep the water and mud out of the engine you will be fine.

One side of the crank has a roller bearing and one side has a bushing bearing. The bushing bearing does not like contaminants.

Also make sure you have a really really good air filter and never use a K&N filter cause this engine does not like dirty air at all.

I was just going to say that down here in the south most of these young guys buying the brutes the first thing they do is put a snorkel kit on and to the mud and water they go and they abuse them and I mean abuse the fire out of them and that is the cause of most of the failures that I see compounded by what Todd just said

Thanks guys. I was starting to freak out a bit. So first order of business is to get a good air filter/billet setup to keep my engine clean.

Down south here where I ride, bigger and deeper is better (more fun to lol). When we go ride its usually the brutes that go deeper and it always the brutes that get flipped on the rear rack to drain the water out of them. Always one brute that has a blown motor due to someone thinking its a submarine when we ride.
