I have the vforce john mod and getting ready to do engine kit I talked to john and he said when I do the engine kit that to get max performance I would need ro install a adustable kit , he said he was in the process of selling a kit that would be friendly to his mod and I don't think it would be as exspensive as the dalton.

Whitey everyone that I have talked to has told me that with a engine kit like your 840 that when you get the clutch tuned right that in some cases that would feel like almost as much power as the engine kit itself, I will be looking foward to hearing how yours works out.

what do you have?clutch wise?im leaning towards the v force john mod and spring because he said it would rev alot lower than the dalton kit and not be reving the engine so much while cruising..but then iread that mickey likes the dalton with no weights and their springs with a overdrive cap.i can get the dalton stuff at a real rreasonable price thru my dealer and the v force john stuff is 350 for the clutch mod plus 230.00 for his weights and springs.im just wanting some more info about it before i pull the trigger.

I have the dalton wieghts bare with the dalton overdrive plate. Amber Primary and Silver Secondary. Works great with my 840, big difference over stock clutch setup. Ive since added the VFJ mod. Im prob. going to be trying johns new wieghts and springs in the future. I quess what im trying to say is that you cant go wrong with either setup.

It def. hit harder out of the hole and gained about 3 mph on topend, he milled the dalton cover. I had the roller setup plus the stage 3, so tough to say for sure what just the stage 3 wouldve done.

I have the dalton & cover with VFJ stage 3. Works awesome!! Alot more get up & go. Plus much smoother overall operation from take-off thru top end. I removed my thin shim on the secondary and NO more belt slippage at all. I am also running the amber primary spring & silver secondary with 26" big horns & 12" hiper rims.
You can have all the HP you want but if you can't transfer it to the ground then whats the point. So this mod is worth every penny IMO.
