Ported water pump covers

I was working on a water pump cover today that I was building for my 1000cc drag racing V-Force that I put a 2010 Teryx rad on with the bigger outlets. The one on the right in the pic with the two cover has a tube I am welding on that is 3mm bigger ID. If you have ever looked at the whole cooling system on these V-Twins you will see this area is the biggest restriction. As the coolant enters the motor after the pump cover it opens up bigger to feed the the two cylinders and heads. I was getting this cover ready to send off to the foundry to have new higher flow ones made. After looking at the stock cover I started porting one out to see how much more I could make it flow. Well after hours of playing with it I made a make shift test system to see how much more it flowed.I got a bigger increase then I thought I would with out welding a bigger tube on it,so much so I don't see any reason to build the new covers. I'm going to do 2 more Friday to see how long it takes me to do this work but I'm thinking I can do the for about $39,give or take. I believe doing this and taking off .030-.040 off the gasket surface would be the same as putting on one of the impeller kits.Just something I found today thought I would share.

Not our impeller ..... we actually reshape the blades too. We dont just make the stock one .030 - .040 longer.

I never have never seen one over heat. Who really know why people over heat even stockers.

I was just sharing what I found as I was building a one off part for my drag quad and was going to use for a better cover. I don't understand why Kawasaki would build a rad with bigger outlets, then pinch it of at the cover.

as i said from day one ..... put it in the sand. Then hold it wide effin open for 20 min. Then you will see it OVER HEAT everytime. I have boght about 8 sets of head gaskets from you for 840's with blown head gaskets and NO DASA IMPELLERS. Add the impeller and heating issue seems to MAGICALLY DISAPPEAR.
