840 goes down with 35 hours on it.

So my 840 bit it. I toasted the crank and rods they tell me. I was wondering if anyone besides muzzy is making a stroker crank that would work with my FST 840 kit? Looks like I need a crank and rods and all applicable bearings to start with. $1500.00 parts and labor. I'm open to any suggestions on where to get parst.

If you get that for $1500 parts and labor I would be skeptical. If the bearing in the case is bad you gotta buy the case and it is $880, crank, rods and bearing another $700 to $800, gaskets etc.

Crank is 329 rods are 250...and then misc..bearings and such. Labor is 950 something. Part prices add up and the labor is definately there.

Oil starvation they are saying. Don't know about that. I did just get back from the mountains and they say riding steep inclines could cause it. WHATEVER. Anyways since I gotta buy a crank I was just checking to see if a stroker crank would work. You got Mickeys email address?

Rod bearings go out for only two reasons, oil starvation or contaminate.

If the bushing bearing gets too much wear then you lose oil pressure. We have a build going on right now that that bushing bearing had too much wear then took the rod bearings out.
