Questions about tires size and weight.

Hey guys, I have a 2010 Teryx Sport. I'm looking at getting the new Pitbull Rockers for it. I was thinking about getting the 26.5x9x12 and 26.5x11x12 sizes. They also come in 25.5 as well. They do run bigger, so do you think I should go with the smaller tire and keep the Teryx close to 26 inches or go with the 26.5 which is probably over 27 inches....

They are going to be a lot heavier over stock, I'm not sure what the stock weight is on the tires that came with it. How much power do you think I'll lose with the Pitbulls?

bigger tire = heavier tire. If you are already concerned about the weight go with the 25.5s. Probably won't notice much difference in appearance.

I'm not that concerned with the weight...I add a passenger and there is a lot of weight right there which I don't notice when I drive alone....just wondering if I will notice a big loss of power going with these tires. Also, the 26.5 will be a bit bigger but give me an extra 1.5 inches of ground clearance and I'm sure the ride will be just as good or better....just wondering about the power really...

Other members can correct me, but a tire that is 8lbs heavier (each) has a completely different effect on power than throwing 32lbs in the back. You are turning more mass. That's why I would lean toward the smaller size. The 1" taller tire would only provide 1/2" of additional ground clearance ... and that's only under ideal air presure, etc. I think you said they run big? If that's the case then the 25.5 would be about the same. Just my opinion.

8 lbs at each wheel is a tremendous amount of rotating mass and can have a pretty good affect on power.

I think the 25.5 come pretty close to stock size, I saw a picture somewhere. The weight would be a bit less then then 26.5s, not sure how much though. BAH!

Just go with the bigger ones, u know u wanna, weight beteen the 25's and 26's will be neglible, u wouldnt notice the difference between two sizes of rockers, compared to stock, a lil loss of power, but hook up way better with more clearence. All in all i would say that in everything but a drag race u will be faster with the rockers, those suckers really hook up.
