anyone tried this?

i have an 08 with heating issues and was wondering if anyone had pulled the thermostat? would this help? will it hurt anything? im not a motor genius so i dont know what this would affect. thanks in advanced for the help.

I wouldnt do it. First off it is not a thermostat issue. Second , without the thermostat your going to be running your engine ( especially during cold weather ) in a to cool of condition.. Yes , running your engine hard when your engine isnt up to operating temps is just as hard on your engine as running it hot. The issue is more to due with the waterpump at low rpm not flowing enough & radiator clogged with mud.. Also I think the 08's had issues with the fan temp sensor.In some cases causing the fan not to kick in when it should. Answer is .. DASA's impeller & fan override switch.. Easy as that.. Keep the thermostat

Ditto ditto ditto. Keep the t-stat, fix the real issue. I wonder if any of the muddin folks have ever tried a shroud on the bottom of the radiator to keep as much mud from getting up on it. Might be worth a few minutes of head scratching with a couple cold ones
