Type of gas to use

Hey guys, I'm very new to the teryx community. I just purchased my 2009 monster energy sport edition and the previous owner said he only ran high octane. Should I do the same or is regular unleaded ok? It is all stock. (for now )

I have always run premium in all of my ATVs but regular unlead will run fine.

I increase the octane as I increase the timing.

either fuel won't help or hurt anything on a stock motor. The compression is low. If you install a MSD and start playing with timing a better fuel may help detonation. Really if you think about it, it's less than 2 bones per full tank for premium.
I use the same fuel station for my quads so mine gets premium. But it's definitely not required

Thanks guys. I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't hurt to switch since its used to the good stuff. What would you guys say is the first performance upgrade to do?

Everybody is differentas to what they want to do first, I myself am a hp nut and if you are concerned with hp (speed and power) the two biggest bolt on mod to me is a no brainer it is Muzzy Exhaust, and MSD ignition followed by clutch, with those mod you can get around 65 mph but then again you might have other priortys, some people go for seats, wheels and tires, suspenion, cages I think you get the point I could go on for days, one thing for sure you are going to be happy with what ever you do and you are alweays going to want more, like I tell everybody it is an addiction. Welcome to the forum and just enjoy that Teryx!!!

I had my Muzzys on before I wore the nibs off the tires. Haven't regretted that for a second. Just got the MSD so the jury is still out on that, but feedback has been 100% positive. My clutch kit really helped out launch and climbing as well.

Seems like a lot of folks went for the intake, but as you will find from several dyno tests, it adds pretty much nothing. So steer clear of that until you plain run out of things to do.

Thanks big papa. The muzzys sound good but pretty pricey. You got a good place to get them? Or any other cheaper alternatives like a HMF's? You'll have to keep me posted on the msd.
