In stock form it does not need it and if you do big bore it does not need that much more. Gotta be careful about screwing with air intake pressure sensor too.

There are some good options but you will also want to have an MSD unit with the proper map.

Like Todd said, there is no reason to add air on a stock machine.

Once you have MSD, Overdrive cover and pipes .... the next mod would Be Dasa 38mm throttle bodies. The throttle bodies will add about 3hp to that build. They will increase throttle response and HP across the complete powerband.

Opening the air box will not make any more HP ...... we do have a COMPLETE intake on the works that adds serious REAL HP, but it will COMPLETELY REPLACE the entire intake system you have now.

Is it gonna be simiar to the PJ's Airaid setup? Or is it gonna include the plenum and everything?
What type of filter will you be using?

Where are you located? VFJ (vforce john in PA) can get you some Muzzy's and a MSD. You can slightly mod the airbox for some good results. You should swap out the stock airfilter setup for something like the new LTI UNI-airfilter setup. Then you'll be good to go until your ready for more with a VFJ clutch mod for more top speed.

our new intake will come with everything ..... completly replace the plenum and air box. The filter will be an 8 layer fabric filter. Some kind we use on all of our intakes.

No intake that uses the stock plenum will make much of any HP increases, but they will offer a solid clamping surface for the filter and will save your engine. Here is out bolt on intake for the stock air box .... it uses a HUGE filter and billet velocity stack..... PM ME FOR THE FORUM DISCOUNT

HERE IS THE ISSUE .... STOCK FILTER CAN JUST PEEL BACK ... NO SOLID CLAMPING SURFACE

SOLID CLAMPING SURFACE FOR THE INTAKE BOOT AND AIR FILTER .... WITH OUR KIT

HUGE FILTER ... WITH OUR KIT

PERFECT TAPER AND LARGE 4 1/2 INCH FILTER OPENNING ... WITH OUR KIT
