08 hesitation

I have an 08 Teryx with muzzys, CDI, Dalton clutch, and the carbs jetted. After getting the my Teryx back from the local Yamaha shop, where the carbs were jetted, I noticed a slight hesitation at part throttle. When I punch the throttle the bike hesitates then takes off. I'm assuming it has something to do with the jetting but it would be nice if it was something I could check myself instead of hauling my Teryx 45 minutes back to the shop and paying $70/hr. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Unless you are comfortable going in the carbs yourself, you might have a issue. Sounds like they might have not done something right and taking it back won't help.

Thanks. I agree they probably wouldn't be much help. The closest Kawasaki dealer is over an hour away but I guess I need to take it to them. The miss isn't that bad but I'd rather have it running smooth.

I would take it back to the shop that did the work and tell them to fix thier issue for no charge. It should have been done right the first time.

Let me ask you something. You said when you stab the gas from Zero it bobbles then goes.

Was all of those mods done at same time?

If none of it was on there did you do the stomp on the gas thing before all of it?

I put the CDI first, the clutch and exhaust together, then the jets. I didn't drive it very hard between the exhaust and the jets because I was afraid of damaging the engine running lean but I didn't notice the miss before the jets. It stumbles kinda like its not warmed up but it does it all of the time.

I was asking did you do the throttle stab deal when it was just stock or after you did the mods to see what you got?

Reason I ask is, most likely it was there before all this but you never tried it with no mods at all.

Also unless you stab the gas from zero alot and it is really bad I would say leave it be as long as it is great everywhere else.

Very hard for a engine to got from idle to higher RPM quickly, it has to catch up.

I probably didn't drive it as aggressively before the mods. The miss isnt that bad so I guess I'll just live with it. I ordered a set of dynatek coils so maybe that will help. Thanks for the replies.

I went back and read first post again. A miss around 20 and holding steady is the miss talked about with the Dynatek CDI, the coils may not fix it.

People with the programmable one and our curve don't seem to have it.

Also if you are at about 1/4 throttle you are at a spot where your getting fuel from the pilot jet and starting to get it from around needle, you could try putting the clip in the top position and make sure the two shims are on top.
