cage mod

well got me some roof tabs in,and some bar connectors in. So this weekend will be chopping about 3''s off the top, then bringing the bars to the back the rear to make a bumper. plans are to make a bumper that mounts to the bottom of the bed. tie the top into the new roll bars. but put quick connect there so i can still tilt the bed.. Anyone done one like this?

Wow 5.5"s I would be interested in some side pics as well. I'm 6'4" and was a little worried and dismissed the whole chopped cage thing. I would rather not break my neck. How much clearance do you have to the top of the cage? I've looked at some straight cage mods on here where they lost 3" I think looked pretty simple. Yours is complete custom correct?

Almost looks like your seating angle is different than stock seats with the aftermarket ones.

I have plenty of head room.# or 5 in chocp would be about the same job. I do have lowered seat bases. the b s sand wide backs take a little work.to get in. They are awesome, big guy freindly. Real nice on long rides. I could not imagine paying 800 plus for them. Yes cage is custom. Deals are out there.A lot of vendors are crazy on prices.

I am interested in seeing how you do the rear bars. I chopped about 4" off my stock cage and added intrusion bars to the front. my next goal was to do something like you are talking about for the rear. I just need to find someone local that can bend the tube for me. I am 5'11" and my head hits just slightly on the top with my helmet on. I will eventually lower the seats.
