New to the Teryx world

Just bought a 2009 Teryx out of the box, couldn't pass up the deal. Anyway, I had a chance to take it out this weekend and it sure performed flawlessly. My teryx did everything I asked it to do. Just climbing a few small hills and such, just keeping it mellow for the break in period. I was wondering about the noise level, between the motor and the belt it seemed kinda loud to me, I could not hear the exhaust at all. I was planning on installing a speaker amplifier system for my ipod but not sure if that will be worth it because of the noise. Is this noise level normal?

Thank you for the reply back. I sure like this machine. I went out with a couple of quad riders, raptor 660's and such and a few hills they struggled on, I put it in low 4x4 and the teryx just walk up these hills. Kinda funny as I am climbing and looking around and seeing rolled quads everywhere.

wait til u start buying some aftermarket goodies, its an addiction so be warned, may as well tell u now, msd controller, muzzy or dasa full exhaust, over drive clutch cover will make this a different machine 62-64mph top speed more power all around and will sound bad ass. And dont be tempted by deals on flea bay cuz if you call some of the vendors on this site they will give u great deals plus all that i have dealt with offer super support that is just a phone call away, u just wont get that on ebay and it means more than u know, trust me, i made the mistake before i knew better. Oh and if u do any night riding at all hid replacement lights are a must, i bought the ones from endi at sxs customs and couldnt be happier with them, night and day difference, and when i had i little install ? i called him up and he walked me thru it and was more than happy to do it, awesome. Do some search on this site about belt deflection adjustment as this will need addressed for you after a few hrs of riding and is pretty easy diy job instead of taking to the stealership and if you do any mud at all a winch is a must as there is know pushing these things outta mudholes and if you ride with quads its unlikely any of them will pull you out easily, i have a viper 4500 with synthetic rope bought from motoalliance with same support as from sxs and recomend it. some of the other parts i got were from hunterworks and he always offered the same great support as everyone else. I plan on buying some throtttle bodies from dasa and fully expect great support from him as well so the bottom line is their are some really great ppl on this site that just want you to have the best machine you possibly can. I guess those are the basics so go out and have fun and welcome to the forums.

oh, and be careful about leaving the e-brake on as it will smoke your rear brakes and they are sealed up inside the rear diff and and are kinda a spendy pita to change. some ppl put parking brake buzzers to avoid this and i reccomend that as well, u can get all needed parts at radio shack for like $10 and its an easy diy job that may save you from doing a not so easy diy job.
