Electrical switches (plural)? The in/out activation switch i mounted on the dash where the round knock out was. The solonoid I mounted under drivers seat right next to the battery. Just give it some dielectric grease to keep connections clean and free of debris. I used control power under the dash from the cigaretter lighter which is live when the key is on. Not sure if that answers your question. I have also heard of guys reversing the leads ffrom the battery to the solonoid as well and taking the long cables and switching for short and running the solonoid under the hood up high. Then use short set form solonoid to actual winch. Not sure if there is a benefit or drawback.

I have switched wires before to mount the solonoid in a high/dry location.
