Rexy is Pissed!

So I'm brand new on the forum although I've learned a ton from reading your threads and my first post is asking for help. My 08 was not firing on the front and after swapping all ignition parts with the rear, verifying fuel delivery (even priming str8 down the carb) checking valve clearances and verifying compression......I was stuck. Then I started grasping at straws and pulled the vacuum hose off the cylinder just below the intake port and BOOM I have a v-twin again! But obviously that hose has a purpose ......4wd vacuum actuator. So my first thought was clogged vacuum line so i checked all 3 or 4 or however many. If you have suggestions or have run into this b4 your help would be appreciated I'd rather not just start throwing parts at it. Thank you

Keep in mind air does not flow into that port, it just forms a vacuum on the canister.

So with nothing on there and sucking air in it runs good?

Thanks for the response. It runs good with the hose off the engine and that engine port is pushing air not sucking. After my process of elimination I plan to order the black solenoid (not sure yet what it's called) That the hoses plug into as this seems to be the problem, I'm assuming there's some sort of one way check valve in there that's stuck.

I found the actuator part#49116-0024. I'll head to kawi for one this week, and post how it goes. If your teryx front cylinder isn't firing and you've Checked all else try pulling this vacuum line off maybe it will save someone else a headache.

That will NOT fix it and that port should be pulling air not pushing. It pulls air when the intake valve is open on the intake stroke hence it being called a vacuum line, no air is flowing otherwise because the intake valve is closed and that port is in the intake. If it is pushing air then a intake valve is not closing.

You can call me and we can discuss this and figure it out but I promise you the actuator will not fix it. All it is is a electric valve no check valve for your 4wd.

Makes perfect sense Todd thank you! That explains a compression loss and I need to double check that direction and hopefully just a valve adjustment.
