HW Todd Wrecked his motorcycle

Just got out of the hospital. I broke my right ankle and some of the bones on the top of my foot. I had a plate installed on my ankle bone and three external pins to keep my toes straight.

I came around a curve too fast and lost control and took a slide across pavement and then a ditch winding up in a barbed wire fence.

Amazingly I have no other damage although the foots hurts like you know what. I don't have any road rash at all. Not sore anywhere either.

I have to figure out how to still work in the shop with it. Maybe after the pain goes down and I am able to pee easily I can get back to work.

Since we are going to sale hand controls, I am going to install them on the Rhino and still race it on the 22nd. Maybe!!

Thanks for the comments!!

Anybody need a slightly used Kawasaki KLR 650?

Thats funny that you just posted this, I had heard about this yesterday and actually was on the phone with Amber at your shop to see how you were doing.

Glad to hear that it was not more serious (not discounting the injuries you did obtain)

Get well soon my friend!

Yeah, I have been reminded by several family members I could be dead and could have left Hunter fatherless.

Thanks for the comments.

Thanks for the comments. As soon as I can bring my foot below my heart without it throbbing I will get back to work in the shop on the TEryx or at least be telling Scotty or Kyle what to do.

Right now I am stuck in my recliner and I hate it.

Thumbs up

Hang in there guy! Broke my right hip last October & couldn't work for 6 weeks (I drive for a living). Drove me nuts! Thank God you didn't end up with worse. Thinking of you.

Ahhh my friend, I know exactly what you are talking about. Two years ago I was in an ATV accident and stuck my footpeg into the side of my leg. Well I kind just sucked it up, and rode back to camp (this was on a Santurday) the next morning we packed up and left the dunes and it was hurting pretty good, but I could deal with it.

When we arrived home it starting hurting a little more to the point where I wanted to just cut it off. I was taken into the emergency room. When the doctor took a look at the injury, she asked when it had happened, I told her early on Saturday and she wanted to know why it took a day and a half to get in there. She told me you needed stiches and now it is too late!

Long story short, the injury caused cellulitis and I was lucky enough to be hooked to IV's for ten days, and let me tell you, it was ok when I was sitting with my leg elevated but when I had to get up to go to the restroom, I swore I was just going to have the leg taken off...it was close to the worst pain I have felt!!

Anyhow, what I was trying to say is I feel your pain and wish you a speedy recovery
