Look what I tried yesterday.Teryx on a deck and pulling a trailer-trx.jpg
Then I hooked to my toy hauler and attempted to turn. Would work without propane bottles. I think a sled deck or a deck the same height as the top of the box would be tall & tippy. Whats your guys thoughts?? Crow (Sorry about the photo,it from my phone.)

A sled deck is above the bed rails and they often hold 2 quads or mountain sleds. I was more worried about the trailer corners as you are above the propane bottles.

Thanks for the picture crow.

A buddy of mine tried a sled deck on a short box truck a couple weeks ago. When he turned, it did hit his scamper but cleared his propane bottles. It was too wide.I tried narrower,if I went up as high as a sled deck it looks like it might work. Need longer than 7' ramps as mine were quite steep as they were. Crow

Did he have the sides extended or in? I thought it might work if the sides were in the same as the bed sides.

He said the sides were in as he only had 1 quad on it. As he backed out on to the street the deck just touched the front of the trailer. The truck is a chev 3/4 ton with a 4 door cab with a short box, I think about a 6' box if that makes any difference. Crow

seems like a lot of work to avoid a toy box, mine wasn't expensive, it doesn't have a bed room just a drop down queen bed and two bench/ beds with a kitchen and bath and it will fit a prairie 700 and my teryx with room to spare and also gives me a nice place to store the toys when I am not using them.

I am fairly certain he has it all figured out by now, this thread is from 3.5 years ago. But yes toy hauler is the best way to go!

I noticed it was from 2009 but couldn't figure out why it was included in the news letter email this week.

Wow old Thread. I have since bought a toyhauler 5th wheel and an enclosed trailer with 6" of extra height. That was a couple of years ago at least.

Yes I figured it out. Traded that truck in for a long box truck and leave the tail gate at home. Works well but I think a flat deck would be nicer because the tie downs would be easier to do up. I had a toy hauler but sold it because we didn't like making the bed up every night. Plus it pulled very hard.

08 teryx with a few mods. fst standard bore kit, jet kit, plenum rings & billet adapter, uni filter and 3" snorkel & belt snorkels. Clutch kit with overdrive hat. Front and back winches, full length puckboard skid, steel a arm guards, welded on rock rails. 4" cage chop with a puckboard roof. Also cut a hood opening so I can add coolant & wash my rad out after a muddy ride. I'm sure I'm missing some mods but its a start.
