Hi,

I'm a new member to the Forum (actually sort of new to the sport). Just bought my 2008 Teryx last fall and performed some upgrades. But this weekend I hard shifted (with RPMs varying) and blew a bearing out through the side of my crankcase. So now I need a motor.

Been checking around and looking for options. UTVenginerebuilders seems to have a pretty good deal (though they are all expensive). $2900 and they replace crank/rods/pistons/rings (with 11:1 compression) do heads (new intake valves and springs eliminating the typical issues) and also have used (but not cracked) crankcase-halfs included in that price. Also they offer a six month warranty.

I talked to Todd (Hunterworks) and it sounds like he 'might' be able to hook me up as well. Sounds like he might have a bottom-end that could be used.

Anyone know of any other sources for complete engines? These motors see to get snapped up quickly.

Any other thoughts?

Ok, it appears that Todd will be able to hook me up with a case and perform the re-build.

Thanks Todd!

I'm very impressed with Hunterwork's willingness to help out at reasonable price points. If Todd hasn't tried it--he doesn't recommend it--and that a good piece of experience to leverage. There are lots of places to spend money--but Todd tries very hard to deliver value on money spent.
