Benchmark Performance is pleased to announce that it has a limited supply of Copperhead CDIs from Velocity Devices in stock.

These CDIs unleash the potential of your Teryx! Our own Teryx GPSd at 47 mph stock, and 59 mph with just the CDI.

Installation is simple, and it is programmable (upgrade to a new timing curve when you really modify the engine).

After I got my VDI back I have had no problems with the starting like before so I guess they got it fixed And I tried a custom program and higher octane fuel and to me it felt like a big power increase but need to get it on a dyno to prove it.

S2K1,
Where are you located at? I really hate buying one when they are so new. What if any kind of warranty do they have?

They are located in Ramona, CA.

I will let them answer the tech question in regards to the unit itself.

Do they bolt up? Or do you need to make a plate to mount them? I was thinking about getting one before I leave tomorrow and don't want to have to fab up anyting at Glamis.

They appear to be a little larger than stock. Screws are included, however, I have seen where it is a little tough getting into that space to get the screws in.

One suggestion was self tapping screws through the plastic. Not thinking you will have to go as far as fabbing anything.

I personally do not have one, otherwise, I would be happy to shoot you some pics.

No mounting plate needed. The Copperhead has 6 mounting holes, 3 on each side. Unfortunately none of these line up with the factory cdi holes.
The Copperhead does come with 4 self drilling screws. I have been using two of them. The Copperhead sits in the stock location, then just screw a couple of the self tappers into the plastic. We used 2 screws on the Teryx that we raced at Soboba, no problems. I used a Dewalt cordless screwdriver to put the screws in. I did another one by hand that has a modified seat mount. Either way was no problem.

They have a 1 year warranty from the date of sale. This company, Velocity Devices, has been building CDIs for a while, and they have had them on Brute Force and Prairie ATVs most of that time. Even though this application for the Teryx is new, the product is already proven.

Benchmark Performance is located in Ramona, which is in North San Diego County. Any more questions? :D

Just a quick update about VDI availability. They are still waiting for the outer case to come in from their vendor. Sounds like a safe estimate is that they are still 2 to 3 weeks out from being in stock again, anywhere.

vdi or dynatek

hi guys, I was wondering which one is going to be better, the dynatek or vdi? I dont mind spending the money for a better part. All I am going to do to teryx is muzzy exhaust, cdi, maybe air filter (my wifes ride). I never had good luck with airbox mods on my prairie and was wondering if this will be the same. I'm glad ya'll started this forum. This is going to be a great UTV. thanks
