I have an 08 with an 840 kit. I just put a new belt in, and afterwards when I bump the throttle the engine stays at that higher rpm for a few seconds before it starts to come down to idle. Normally it would instantly respond to throttle changes. Im not thinking the belt is the problem but maybe I broke or left something undone during reassembly.
Is there anything these symptoms point to?
Plenum leak?
Idle too high?
KEBC?

thanks

Make sure your throttle cable is not in a bind some kind of way, you can pull the little cover off the side of your carbs where the linkage is, you can take your hand and open the throttle and close it real quick to check that.
