I am really starting to get aggravated, truck has gone in for oil leaks four times since the beginning of the year...yes four times in less than two months.

I have a 2007 F250 with the 6.0 POS diesel in it and 35K miles on the odometer.

Anyhow, just felt the need to vent...thanks!

i know the feeling, i had 05 that warped head and spewed antifreeze everywhere. traded and bought an 08 and had injectors changed, replaced radiator, and a few fuel leaks fixed with only 37000 mi. sadly however if i'd be purchasing a new one tomorrow it would be another PSD (i have buddies that have dodge and chevy, and all these new diesels are giving trouble). oh well, at least the teryx doesn't give problems yet!!!

just give it another 6 months and the 3/4 ton dodges will be out with the new body and interior, suprisingly I do like them but only if they made it in a long bed mega cab but they are doing away with the mega cab idea

I was a GM of a local Ford store for several years and Yes the 6.0 was the DEATH of ME:mad:!!!! I was as True Blue Ford as anyone but I could only take so many butt chewings and I finally lost complete faith in their Diesels. I am now driving a Chevy and Love the Duramax. Now I am really in a bad situation... Ford I believe is going to be the only one not to use the bailout money from the government and GM and Dodge both need it from Greedy Management. So the question is am I going to support the 2 companies that I am paying taxes to keep at float or am I going to support the one that is trying to fix their problems with their own money and not ours.

Just something to think about!!!!!:confused::confused::confused:

the 6.0 is the reason for international and ford to split up and yes all new diesels are a pos i see them at my shop all the time and the fleets we service take there newer trucks in for warranty all the time duramaxes have their injector problems and hyadralic pump issues, the 6.7 cummins has alot of issues besides getting bad fuel mileage bad head gaskets and overheating, the 6.0 man that has got to be fords biggest mistake the 6.4 could probably surpass it for issues if it was gna be kept in their truck line. Thats why ford is already putting that new scorpion diesel in test trucks the last true recent diesel to be a good motor was the 5.9 cummins as long as you followed the maintenace schedule

Ford will use bailout money they only have enuf cash surplus to keep them afloat longer than dodge and gm, they are banking that them not asking as much as those two are that it will increase their sales while gm and dodge plummit

Just my own rant on Diesels, Fords problem started when Ford dumped the 7.3L for the POS 6.0L. They should have stuck with the 7.3, made some improvements to update it and probably would have a good solid engine still. I do lots of diesel work and personally if wanted a diesel truck I would be buying a 2003 F-Super Duty with the 7.3L! The 6.0L and 6.4L are nothing but grief, 5.9L cummins around 2005 when they changed their injection system, now have injector problems, 6.7L is just starting to come in now for the same - and yes everyone complains on the old Cummins history of great fuel mileage but that seems to be gone now with the 6.7L - but like the Ford 6.4L - you need an exhaust / intake / and programmer, and now you may get some mileage out of them. I have actually found that the newer Duramax is or seems pretty reliable now, early years had their problems! As for buying a new truck, it would not be a diesel - period! As for gas engines now, thats another story!

i have a 2001 ford psd that i have a love/hate relationship with. love the motor but hate everything else around it! has good power but i'm scared to go on long towing trips with it. been through 3 trannys in 80,000 miles and its 100% stock! kept it and bought a 2004 6.0 chevy. wish it was a duramax but oh well. i think anymore my kenworth is the better bet!

Just a question: When you did the tranny did they put in a new external tranny cooler and/or bypass the one in the rad or else replace it also if using it??? I have found that when these tranny's blow up the put lots of clutch parts through the cooling system and plug the coolers. The one in the rad is very difficult to clean out, the external just throw it away and put in a Tru-Cool tranny cooler and shouldn't need any other cooler. May help trannys last if of any help!!!:D

when the dealer replaced the first one they put an aftermarket cooler on. that was at 19,000 miles. second went at 42,000 and the 3rd at 67,000. but after the first one they wouldn't put a new one in saying that they werent available, so rebuilt ones are what i received. i would trade it in but as everyone knows used trucks arent worth anything anymore, and they still think the new ones are made of gold(they wonder why they are going broke in a damn quick hurry?)

Are you on the Arizona Powerstroke Group forum? They are a tremendous help when it comes to Ford diesels. I bought my first Powerstroke and I lucked up and got the good one the 7.3.

Actually I am not, however, this is just a problem motor...it is falling apart. I need to make a decision to either pursue a buy back or trade the truck in.
