In case anyone was wondering exactly what the heat shield kit looks like for the Muzzys, here it is :)

New Muzzys systems should ship with these. The initial pipes did not come with anything and caused some heat related issues. Muzzys recognized this and ship these out to the initial buyers.

Interesting. Is this something Muzzy offers or a local thing? If it cuts heat, I would also be interested although last night after working all day cutting wood, the warm seats and console actually felt pretty good. The sound still sucked, so Muzzy's is gonna have to happen regardless...

Well helix took his to get done, however, rumor has it that Muzzys may offer coated pipes as an option...which would be excellent! :good:

Muzzy's is offering coated pipes now, I LOVE mine, no more wrap to deal with. Also as a lot of you guys know, Muzzy's is always improving their stuff and the heatshield is also evolving with a lot more protection for your sensor harnesses that run to the rear of the engine case over top of the stator. I have one of the very latest test heat shields that I am trying now with my FST STD Bore Kit and so far I like it but I am still rich and bad weather is delaying the jetting and testing. My 8YO is also out of school for the holidays so that is cramping my riding style as well. If Murray will let me I will post photos of the new shield, but without permission, I can't, sorry guys.

Sleepy23 call Muzzy's and ask for Murray and you will get the help with your system. Muzzy's services what they sell and they want ALL customers to be happy. Plus their systems produce the incredible HP baby!! I love mine!!

Also Sleepy23, when are we going riding man, don't you live close to western NC?

I had to put a couple extra holes in my heat shield to get it to bolt up to the 09. Not a big deal I am sure this is something they will change. Where the CDI and some fuses mount over the battery the 09 holds down with two screws on the top side that the shield didn't account for. This is a great exhaust and sound good.
