Ok so here is the deal. Last Tday I toasted the motor in the rex my fault I take full credit for that. After having a shop go through the bottom end new crank, new rods, etc and a muzzy std bore kit thought I was good to go. While I had it apart i had a feeling I should have changed the valves and springs but as the price tag started to add up I didn't do it. Now this last weekend was the first trip out and here is where the problem starts. I rode it Sat and Sun approx 10 hours of easy riding. Go to start it Monday and it cranks but wont start. The intake valves are shut down so I adjust the valves. Ride it again fairly easy and again after about 5 hours this time intake valves again are shut down.
So I guess I need to pull it back apart and have the heads done. The shop is quoting a ridiculous amount to do this and I am out of money lol. So how hard is it to pull the heads? Then I am thinking about buying a set of heads from Benchmark the stage 1 heads does anybody have any experience with these heads. Any help is appreciated thanks for the imput.

I have never heard anything but great things about Chris at Benchmark, didn't know about him when I bought my engine kit and had all of my cylinder and head work done, I used Glenn at AMR for that but probally would have used Chris if I would have known about him at the time, Chris bored a set of throttle bodies for me with the help of Chad at FuelAtv which is also GREAT to deal with, and I have seen and sold several sets of bored tbs and they are by far the best looking bored tbs that I have put my eyes on. I will have a set of heads for sell next week if the first guy I told about them don't buy. they will be loaded with plus 2 valves, milling and porting with all new never run springs, valves.

BigDaddy would those heads work with my motor set up it is pretty mild compared to most. If you don't mind shoot me a pm with a price if the other guy doesn't want them. I am pretty comfortable with the mechanical part of the job except for the cams. I hear they can be a little difficult.

Sorry to hear you ran into problems. My FST STD Bore kit came with new valve springs in the kit. That was the hardest part to change out. Taking the heads off is not that bad. I have heard nothing but good about Benchmark, the RZR guys LOVE Benchmark.

From what I have seen the return on investment on the plus whatever valves and porting is just not there it also is a very RPM gain, not i the lower RPM and someone is going to say all RPM is high with a CVT.

Not 0-20 or 25 mph, at this point you are running thru the RPM and this is where you need the velocity of air not the volume.

If you simply want the valves replaced and the seats recut along with decking the heads so your sure they are true you can send them to me.

$100 for the seat cutting and decking and $60 for the swap out.

As far as the cam timing I can walk you thru it and it is really easy.

Valves and springs are kinda high. I would use Kibblewhite valves and R&D springs and new retainers.

Those parts are about $500 to $600. I can't remember off the top of my head
