after my last outing going up a hill my teryx dropped out of gear. I thought it was just my shifter cable and I was able to adjust it enough to get back to camp. After I got home I can not adjust it enough to get into low gear it will only go into r, n and h. Is my tranny shot? Any ideas would help thanks

Bad news is most likely it is internal but the best way to tell is take the rod off the shift arm on the engine and move it with your hand, you will have to rock the vehicle back and forth to get it to shift though.

I will tell you that if you think it is internal, do NOT crank it up again as it can go from expensive to really expensive with broken parts flying around in there.

One engine I did her, the broke parts fell right to bottom of engine no damage, another one took everything out including the case.

If you are going in I recommend the following

new aftermarket valves stock one deface 100% of the time
new aftermarket valve springs
hone cylinders with a ball hone lightly
put new rings in
put new crank bearings in
depending on miles new cam chains and oil pump chain

FYI, we offer ship in engine, repair and ship back out.
