i am running a fst standard bore kit, muzzy exhaust, uni filter, hw carb kit, dyna cdi and two tpi valves. I am also using an air fuel ratio meter from todd at hunterworks. i live in Ky with an elevation of about 1000'. I started with a 170 rear and 165 front main and the meter was telling me I am way to rich. So I started leaning it out and i am down to a 155, 150 and it is pretty close and running alot better than it was before. My problem is I am afraid im way to lean and going to burn something up. Runs alot better, but seem to be running hot. researching where everybody else is with my same setup on mains like 175 180 and 190 195 worries me. Is there anyway i should be this lean..Please help...Thanks

Go by what YOUR A/F readings are, there are a multitude of jet makes or makers and some have different # numbers for their jets, for instance the Dynojets sizes are not the same as the Keihin jets. I think Dyno use the size of the hole drilled for their jet number and Keihin uses the amount of flow through their jets as their number.
The way I understand it is, even though I am your next door neighbor, and we have all the same set up...(everything identical)....we still could posssibly have different size jets, due to make up and mechanics of each individual machine, that's why I think it is important to go by what YOUR A/F meter says.

I'm at around 1100' and running 165 and 160 mains with Fundy Std Bore kit and everything else but exhaust the same. Have not had a chance to test but I started with 180 and 175 and it ran like $hit. Runs good but when I put on my muzzy I will try again. Might take to the dunes and put on a dyno to get it right.

Like PJ said, don't get confused by some people referring to Keihin Jets which are sized a lot differently than the DynoJet Jets that come in the HW kit. Go by what the A/F Meter says and you should be fine.

I'm running almost the same mods as you, instead of the uni I still have the stock filter. My jetting is the same jetting that I put in it after I installed my Muzzys after I installed my std bore kit all I had to do is play with the TPI valves to get my desired A/F reading witch is [email protected] WOT and 13 to 14 at idle.

I don't remember what jet sizes are in mine but it's the ones HW recomended when I installed the carb kit and Muzzys. BTW I am around 1,100 feet.

Hope this helps.

i am only using keihen jets....my gauge never showed being to lean, but with a 170, 165 i was reading 9.0 to 10.0 so now i am at 152, 148 and on the rear cylinder i am reading 12.0 to 12.5 WOT. I have not had time to check the front. Just seems like im running very hot, fan kicking on alot, but just might be in my head.
