Never heard of this before and we have sold over 1000 of these. Not saying it is not possible though.

Also there is no CDI on a EFI fuel injected vehicle nor is there any computer. I would be suspect of any dealer who called either box the names you mentioned.

There is a ECU ( Electronic Control Unit) and a Electric brake control box.

Are they sure the MSD did this?

I for one have never heard of it.

I am with Todd. Your stealership is just pointing fingers at aftermarket parts to cover their ass or mask their ignorance to what the real problem is.

Sorry what they said was Control Unit $515 the ECM which was $430 and a Relay which was $31.00 and labor which totaled about $1400 so far. I went and dug out my Msd and looked at connections and smelled it sure enough it smelled burnt they havent recieved the parts yet but im sure they will add to the list :confused:

It actually could be the other way around as well, the stock ECU friend them all. They do fail.

The thing about the MSD is most of the wires go in and loop thru, only the fuel and ignition is taken over by the MSD, the rest are just pass thru

I don't have the MSD on my 2012 Teryx 4 but I just had to replace the ECU on mine with just a little over 1500 miles. I did swamp it once when it was almost new, that could have been the reason. Either way water was my enemy in this case. I have an extended warranty so I lucked out there. I think you could probably do the labor yourself and so a few bucks that way.

MSD does not have one for that model anyway.

With over a thousand MSD sold by us, this is not the MSD fault or if it was, this is the very first time I heard of it.
