I need to relocate my radiator. I ride a lot of deep mud and very muddy water. I have snorkels and a big speaker box in the way of putting it on the rear roll cage. Also I would really hate to blow a hose and get a face, head and neck full of hot coolant.

I am thinking about putting it on the hood or under the hood but mounted higher up. Possibly between the upper frame and the hood.

I also thought about using a brute force radiator relocate and mounting it to the upper frame and cutting my hood to fold down around it.

I have seen one mounted to the hood itself before but I would imagine that the hood would not be strong enough to support the radiator while riding and bouncing around.

I have a 2010 model if that helps.
Any advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I know it is a long shot but pictures would be a god send. Thanks as always for any help.

I suppose if there was ever a time I want to relocate my radiator, the only place I could think of would be at the rear of the cage...not a lot of places to put it.

Not sure under the hood what sort of air flow you would get.

I have figured out what I am going to do. I am using a Brute force rad relocate kit. I am going to put it under the hood by the firewall. The top 2/3 of the radiator will stick up past the hood. I will then trim the hood to close around it. I think the airflow will be better considering the radiator wont be packed with mud lol. I will post pics when I finish.

Like the mod. I wanna do it too. I just have a few questions:
Does the heat from the rad blow back on you now?
Do you have any pics of where and how you mounted it?
How well has it been working for you?

Thanks.

Yes the heat does come back on you a little bit. I have the short windshield so I adjust it up or down depending on how much heat i want to feel.

IT works GREAT!!! It is my favorite mod so far. I went on a three day ride for new years and didn't overheat once. I use to be the guy that slowed the whole group down. Not anymore!!

mounting pics are below.

I live in Texarkana. If you are anywhere close bring it by. We do this kind of stuff on the side. I have a place to get all the face plates and brackets machined with whatever design you want. I can do one out of aluminum or steel.
