hey guys, im new here and to the the teryx. I have around 85 miles on my 2011 model, and its making a slapping or clicking kind of sounds. Its more noticable when at low speeds or letting it coast down, other than that it runs and drives fine. I'm thinking its the belt getting loose. Does anyone have any other ideas?

Welcome to the site.
Hard to tell without hearing it. It could be the belt is loose, KEBC kicking in or ?

Im not sure what you mean by KEBC, but i found how to seach on here after i posted, and I think its the chattering issue that some others are having. I'm gonna try to tear into it this weekend.

Take advantage of that "warranty" ... if it's easy to get to the dealer that is. Why tear into a brand new machine?

On the other hand the KEBC does cause some chattering sounds, but they are minor. I guess you need to ask yourself how finely tuned your ear is. IF it runs, stops, accelerates, doesn't overheat, shifts, etc ... might want to let it ride for a bit.

ok yea its not the braking system. I talked to my dealer and he said it sounds like my belt aswell. He said it could be part of it broke and is slapping around as it spins either way its going in the shop saturday. The crappy part is its not covered under warrenty because its a wear part. He said i'm looking at around 250 to 300 for everything. Does this sound about right?

If it is in fact a belt or your going to go into it to see, don't pay them to do it, do it yourself.

All you need is a new belt and a clutch puller before you start and watch our install videos to do it yourself. You can always call in if you need help too. You will be back in there adjusting the belt etc at some point anyway.

We sell both the belt and puller

That's not a bad price if you choose to pay them to do it. The actual belt change is cake ... it's getting to that point that's a bitch. Lot's of plastic, bracing, gas tank, etc.
But it's not hard at all. And what a great time to do a clutch mod!!!!!! The money you would pay them in labor damn near covers a Dalton kit. Really wakes up the machine.

thanks for the help fellas. I watched your videos hunter there very helpful. I'm still going to take it into the shop to make sure it is the belt. And if it is then so be it... if not then it should be warrentied. Does this happen often on the teryx's? If so, the next time i smoke the stock one i thought about doing the clutch kit, OD cover, and the sever duty belt on my own.

IF belt is loose or your doing some activity that is hard on it. Also if you have the CVT snorkeled it can do it.

Best bet is to always just gas on it, don't ease on the gas cause your wearing the belt out

i doubt with that low of miles the belt broke unless you were towing stuck vehicles outta mud or doin alot of mud boggin or towin hvy loads, the belt prolly just needs adjusted would be my guess, and always replace belt with stock kawie belt, its the best one.
