For those of you who have removed the spark arrestor from your machine, what method did you use? Of course those with aftermarket exhaust tips just removed the stock and replaced, however, those of you who kept your factory tip, did you just cut it off?

Also, after removal, aside from the power increase, did you notice an increase in sound?

I am thinking that this wont be enough of a change to have to rejet correct. I know just taking it out is cheaper but are the billet ones any better?

You can take the entire assembly out and leave it, or finish it off with a billet tip. You should not have to rejet regardless.

What about the billet tip with the spart arrester. I believe it is a large exit point so it should still breathe better.

Not sure I quite understand what you mean, you already have two headers now. Or are you saying that you were going to put a dual tip on?

They have a small screen usually in those tips that they call a spark arrestor. Whether it is USFS approved is another story :)

I am going to take the tip off then make a T to replace it and run duals one out each side to just past the edge of the bed..like duals on a pick up truck...

I have been reading about the power gains with the arrestor removed. I can't go to loud, because the whole reason for the Teryx was so my wife can ride with me. So I think I am going to fabricate a new tip with out the arrestor. So in the dunes it will look like it is still there. I never heard of any dunes catching on fire anyway! If I ride some trails I will just through the OEM one back in.:D

I also have a commercial Sound level meter so I will post SPL with and without....
