I think the 13" diameter steering wheel on my 09 Teryx is too small. I'd like a 15" wheel but research into the change over is confusing. Grant Wheels first told me I need Adapter Kit 470-4673...then the same Grant employee said, "no, you want Kit 470-3677 because the 4673 only fits the Mule". I found a thread by Puddle Jumper from April 08 and he used the 4673 Kit. Since either Kit has to be special ordered, can anyone clarify this so I can get the right darn adapter. Also, do you have any opinions on whether the bigger wheel is a smart move?

I'd recommend a bigger wheel, My stepdad is running a grant wheel on his Teryx, not only the larger diameter of the wheel but also of the ring on the wheel (where you hold on) helps make it quite a bit easier to drive...I've been looking at those odd shaped wheels, with the flat bottoms or near flat bottoms...I think you can pick one of those up on eBay or other places for around $100 for the wheel and the adapter...and its a polished metal adapter...where as the grant adapter is the black one you're used to seeing in the older cars and trucks with Grant wheels...I think they offer a chrome one for the wheel too, but not sure...I can give you the part number off of the box we have for the grant adapter, you will have to order it because no part stores or speed shops i've found stock that particular one...the 4673 sounds correct, but I want to double check before I tell you thats the one we have...I'm leaning towards the wheels on eBay...they have a strange shape, but it does seem to make it a bit easier to drive..and they work well if you have larger hands...They have some standard shaped ones on there too, for around $90 with an adapter, If I remember Correctly...

hope this helps,

i have a superatv wheel with the flat bottom. they are junk. very weak. i can grab the top of the wheel, and pull back and forth, the top of the wheel will move 2-3". i think they are aluminum, very weak. either buy grant or some other brand, not superatv!!!!!

I just installed a Speed Industries wheel & a JOES Racing wheel quick disconnect . I am super happy with both so far. The wheel is very sturdy & rigid.I'll try to get some pic's up.

Hey guys, thanks for the advice regarding the bigger wheel..I'll stay away from the flimsy ones mentioned. So far I haven't found a 15" diameter Grant wheel with a shallow dish that I can afford. Have any of you used a 15" wheel? I think I'll call Grant Wheels again and see if they can give the same answer twice concerning which adapter kit is right.

15" might be a bit large for the Teryx...I could be wrong, Im not sure what size is in ours...I'd hit up ebay for the wheel itself, there are always people selling old wheels on there...they might be banged up a bit or scratched, but thats what paint is for, haha...I think the APC company or whatever, they make junk for the little fast and furious cars, they have some decent wheels, and they seem to be pretty sturdy...and relatively inexpensive...

The kit that we have is the 4673..we order it in a package somewhere on the internet...wheel and kit for less than $100 or so

thanks Gr3G for the on the right adapter for the steering wheel. Maybe 15" is too big. That would be almost 2" wider than the stock wheel. I'll give it more thought.
