Ok here is the deal over Tday ran the Teryx a little low on oil and now it has developed a knock. It will sit and idle for ever with no noise but as soon as you give it a little throttle it sounds like a bolt is floating around. I am having a hard time telling exactly where the noise is coming from at first I thought it was in the belt area but it is not. So what do the experts think? I will take it into the shop after Christmas just trying to see if anybody else has had a similar issue. Any help is appreciated thanks:banging:

I Would not run it any more it sounds like you have a rod bearing going out and if you brake a rod you going to start busting the cases and then the price of a rebuild is going to cost allot more. Just my guess tho

I agree it sounds she was starved for oil and now has a rod knock. Time for that 840 kit! AS 04Dodge said don't run it any longer or you WILL window the cases!!! And consider yourself lucky you caught it before that has happened.

I agree with above opinions, But are you sure it is not the belt coming appart??? I thought the same on my freinds when it was knocking. He took his to the dealer and it was the belt. He had it replaced and all is good now. He then told me how he power braked the shit out of it when he was racing me which is when he roasted his belt.

Thanks guys I was kind of thinking a rod also. I guess I will start shopping lol. Codyo I thought it was the belt also so pulled it apart and replaced but it didn't fix it. Thanks again guys now I just need to decide what engine kit to run.

Keep up posted on the out come of this issue. This is valuable info on a form like this. Some one will have this issue down the road.

I seen two or more teryx motors on ebay. I think they were any where from 2500 to 3500 for what seem to be a new take out engine. Could be a scam but may be a quick fix.
