So what was the first mod you did when you brought your new Teryx home?

I have been busy all weekend so I have not had a chance to really play, however, a few HP gain is expected when simply removing the spark arrestor.

The CDI's are out now, so I am really thinking about picking one of those up :)

CDI!
Without a doubt, the CDI makes a huge difference. Benchmark Performance GPSd their stock Teryx at 47 mph. With only the CDI, it went 59 mph.

And, it eliminates the timing retard below 5 mph and really lets it rip!

Our Teryx will now burn all 4 tires from a standing stop for a good 15 feet, and way longer than that in 2WD!

The other things we have done are a bolt on 2 seat cage, DWT Racing Beadlock wheels, and a AC Racing slip on muffler.

Ya that v-twin from my understanding is way under-tuned, reports are that the CDI really livens it up a lot!

Right now I am working with a fab shop for the cage, then we will move onto performance ;)

When I got my teryx home i took off the guards off the a-arms and all the warning stickers. My first real mod is a AC Racing / Flow Dual exhaust system!

I have paddles and smoothies already but not on yet and ITP T7 Black beadlock wheels on order.

we drove ours in the parking lot, drag raced the rhino and then got to work on the long travel, 4 seat cage, front bumper, light bar with 3 LED's by baja designs, PRP front and rear bench deats, VDI, took out spark arrestor, billet body kit, billet wink mirror, cool LED lighted whip (Kawi green), 14 in tork wheels with goodyear MTR's, billet grab bar and ipod holder, and then went straight to the dunes and had a blast, NEXT: Motor work!

So what you are saying is that you were happy with what it had from the factory ;)

Sounds like a really nice machine, post up some pics in the Main Index - www.TeryxHQ.com Media Gallery when you get a chance!

So have you changed out the seats or just the cage right now? Is it is 4 seat or just a aftermarket 2 seat cage?

The first mod was the trial tech dash. Then I got hooked up with rpmfab in Pheonix and they are doing their magic. Seats and beadlocks are next then drive the heck out of it. After Memorial day doing a fuel gauge install and a cdi. Whatever you do don't tell my wife lol.

Future Mods in order of priority..
1. I toss and turn at night trying to figure out how to make it street legal in California.
2. Some kind of removable top for my 4 seat cage.
3. Weld a extension onto the gas pedal so I can rest my foot on the tunnel.
4. Enlarge the rear door on my toy hauler so my Teryx will fit!
5. GPS unit.
6. Some way to deal with a flat tire.

Easiest way to make it street legal is move to Az lol. What size toy hauler do you have? When we built my 4 seat cage we made it 4 inches shorter to help with the height issue. Post up some pics and is it dune season yet.

I thought about making the roll cage shorter, then thought about strapping the suspension down somehow, lowering the air in the tires, removing the shocks, buying another trailer, etc,.

I have a 1997 24' trailer. The ramp opening is only 62" high, the Teryx is 75" high. My head would hit the roll bar if i took 13" off of it.

My trailer is kind of old, so I am not afraid to modify it. I am going to get a larger rear door and extend the doorframe to fit the new door height. I will loose the bed above the door, but that's ok.

I will post some pictures soon.
